Strategies That Will Help You to Win in Pai Gow Poker. Part 2

When you get Three of a Kind, put all three cards in the back. If you get three Aces, break them up.

Full House should be split too. Use a pair for two-card hand and the Three of a Kind in five-card hand. This is a general strategy that should be applied unless you have a pair of 2s and an Acre or King. This combination can be played in front.

Double Three of a Kind implies putting the highest pair in the front.

Now let’s talk about Flushes, Straight flushes and Royal Flushes. If you have Flush or Straight, it can be put in the back and played as two pairs. This is possible in the following situations:

  • You have an Ace and any two pairs
  • You have a pair of 6s and a pair of Jacks
  • You’ve got a pair of Aces and more pair (any).

In situation when you get a Straight and two pairs, you should ignore Straight and play your hand as two pairs. This is recommended for the following situations:

  • You have a five-card Straight and two more cards. Use Straight in five-card hand and two cards that are in not in it should be played in 2-card hand.
  • You have got a 6-card Straight. In this case two highest is played in two-card hand and the cards remaining are played in the five-card hand.

Finally, when you have a 7-card Straight or a Flush, put the highest hand in front and Flush/Straight should be put to the back.

By the way, keep in mind that 5% commission will be taken from your winnings. Dealer wins in case both if his hands beat yours. In case one of your hands beats dealer’s one, you get a situation called Tie or Push. It means you will be returned your stake back and lose or win nothing.
